Faucets break, it does happen, sometimes water will begin to pour out all over the walls and floor. The important thing to do is to not panic. You can still turn the water off from the shut off valves that are normally under your sink. Under your sink you will see two small valves that are round, one for hot and one for cold. Turn them clockwise to shut off both the hot and cold water.
Sometimes water shut-off valves freeze up from lack of use. If it won’t budge, get a pair of pliers and slowly turn the knob back and forth until the rubber seat inside loosens. Don’t force it all at once or it could break and cause bigger plumbing problems. If the valve spins freely and won’t turn the inner seat, tighten the set screw on the face and try again. After that, when you have them turned off call us and we will send someone over to fix your faucet.
